I studied botany and history as an undergraduate and completed an honours project focused on eco-sourcing and restoration of southern rata populations. The focus of my PhD thesis is species coexistence and community assembly in European grasslands, making me a plant community ecologist for the most part. I have visited both the Auckland Islands and Campbell Island briefly in the past to collect plants and insects. I have had a lot of fun over the last 5 years botanising and exploring the northern hemisphere, from Afghanistan to the Arctic. Adventure ecology is really what I’m most keen on.
