Dr. Colin Meurk is a senior ecologist at Landcare Research—a government research institute specialising in sustainable use of terrestrial resources. He works in biogeography, ecological restoration and design, landscape dynamics, urban ecology and conservation biology, with a specialist area of terrestrial ecology and botany and over 100 peer-reviewed scientific articles.
He has particular expertise in Subantarctic plant ecology, with a career in this region of over 40 years, and numerous articles, maps and book chapters on the terrestrial ecology of the Subantarctic Islands and the impacts of exotic animals on these fragile systems.
