Ian is a senior land resource scientist with 35 years research and consultancy experience in land resource evaluation and mapping, geomorphology and landscape characterisation, floodplain hazard and erosion research, and land use identification and classification.
Ian is currently project leader of soil modelling research in the South Island uplands, and manages the Soil and Landscape teams South Island based commercial portfolio. Ian has travelled and worked extensively in Australia, North and South America, Europe and South East Asia and has gained a wide knowledge and perspective of geomorphology, agriculture, and land use issues. He is the author of over 126 publications and specialist consultant reports.
