Company Director and principal scientist at EOS Ecology, with 12 years combined research and consulting experience specialising in New Zealand freshwater ecosystems, impacts of catchment change, and restoration ecology.

Shelley is active in reporting and presenting at a local government, community, and conference level, and has published on waterway restoration and urban issues. Her passion for quality science and bridging the gap between science and the public is the reason for the development and ongoing success of her niche aquatic research consultancy company. Effective communication continues to be a core focus for her professional career, following the belief that 'a science career is about more than publishing journal articles'.

Shelley is also the designated expedition photographer/videographer. She will bring our research and experiences on the Island to life, and connect the public to the beauty of this island and its weird and wonderful inhabitants (researchers included!). She has been responsible for the copy writing of the programme's printed media and web site content and overseeing the design, as well as taking on the mantel of expedition coordinator and communication strategist. Who says that girls can't do everything!
